Remember how I said that 2013 is going to be my year? As cliched as that is and sounds- because everyone says that after the new year- I think I was right.

Big announcement. After working as a full-time graphic designer/communications ninja for over 3 years, this is my last week of full-time employment in the non-profit industry. Next Monday, I’m starting an internship with Oscar de la Renta‘s art department. Oscar de la Renta, who dressed two of the funniest women on television for the Screen Actors Guild Awards last night. Needless to say, I am more than thrilled and nervous and excited to get started.

As someone who never, ever takes a big risk- I’ve had the same haircut since I was 7- this is certainly a huge thing for me to jump in to. Everything just seemed to fall into place, and I found myself without a reason to say “no.” I’m hoping that it pays off in the long run, even though the next 3 months are going to be pretty crazy, busy, and exciting.

Once this new schedule starts, I will be working THREE jobs and I’m not really sure what the future holds for this blog. I just read Court + Hudson‘s last post and truly identified with her, and admired her for her honesty and transparency. I want to be honest and transparent with you all, too. For the last few months, I’ve felt a bit uninspired and found it difficult to keep up with posts, especially since I didn’t do personal style posts. Now, the next few months are going to be about me and getting my career and life in order and straightened out.

With that said, I thank you all for your support, loyalty, friendship, and readership. I’ve been blogging in fashion for 3 years, and over 2 at this very place, and I wouldn’t have had any success without each and every one of you. I met many of you through blogger-only events, one that took me all the way across the country.

Please stay in touch (links to the right) and let me know when you’ll be in New York City, since starting on Monday, I’ll be spending 3 out of 7 days there!

Congratulations! So proud of you! :) Big leaps like this are scary… but you take them with faith and knowledge that there are people who will be there if you don’t land safely on the other side. As someone who is a little bit *cough – at least two decades* older… the leaps that were the worst were the ones I almost took, and didn’t.

Wow, Christa! I am BEYOND excited for you! ODLR is HUGE and you should be super proud of yourself for not only going for it, but actually taking on such a scary endeavor! I’m rooting for you from Texas and I hope to see you again in the future! PS-My favorite clutch is a black vintage ODLR I found at a consignment shop last year. GOOD FOR YOU!
