This girl came into my life.

Happy adoption anniversary, Lily!

This year has been one of the best and most difficult of my life. Having this dog around has changed everything forever and I can’t wait for many more years with her.

When I got Lily, she had just been rescued by an animal welfare group in Alabama a few weeks earlier. She was a stray and her foster mom believed that she was abused, mostly likely by men, and chased by some dogs before she was found. It has been so amazing to watch Lily grow from a scared, timid baby pup to the confident, friendly, outgoing dog she is now.

After a year with this sweet, lovable pup, I have to ask: who rescued who?
