Shop for Success in New York City
On October 19 and 20, there’s a very special event happening in New York City. Young Executives for Success (YES), a volunteer branch of Dress for Success in New York City, is holding Shop for Success, a two day shopping event at The Metropolitan Pavilion. One hundred percent of sales and proceeds will directly benefit Dress for Success.
To me, a weekend of shopping and surrounding myself with inspirational women is the perfect way to spend my time off. Combine that with philanthropy and a good cause, and you sold me.
The first night, October 19, is a special VIP shopping event featuring a specially curated collection of items with the host committee. American fashion designer Rachel Roy is hosting the event this year. Other notable host committee members include Bobbi Brown, founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, and Alexandra Wilkis Wilson, Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Gilt Groupe. The main event will take place on Saturday, October 20, where the general public will be able to shop designer brands at steep discounts.
I went to a YES event on June and immediately knew I wanted to join this group of amazing women, which I just did. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend Shop for Success this year, but I plan on it next year and I strongly urge you to attend the event if you are able to!
